Growing demand for renewable energy has positive effect
Increased nationwide interest in renewable energy has seen the expansion of an award-winning Cornish company, which has moved to larger offices to meet the demand for its services.
Enact Energy, which has just celebrated its 15th anniversary, has relocated to new premises on Tolvaddon Energy Park as it gears up for what it believes will be an extremely busy future as more people across the UK show an interest in its range of services, including the provision of home insulation, solar electricity and solar hot water systems.
Home to the company’s call centre, sales, finance and administration departments, Enact now employs over 50 people from its new 4,500 square foot Cornwall offices, from which it provides its own UK-wide energy efficiency services in addition to managing projects for Tesco and Marks & Spencer.
The eco-friendly new offices are fully equipped with energy efficient lighting and a ground source heat pump, while the company says it also plans to install a solar panel system to the building’s roof. Further enhancing their green credentials, Enact are supplied with electricity by Wiltshire-based Good Energy, who source all of their power from renewable energy technology.
Adrian Wright, who launched Enact in 1996, says the move is a reflection of the growing interest in renewable energy such as solar, which has been largely driven by spiralling energy costs.
“There is no doubt that the renewable energy market in the UK has seen significant growth recently and this is expected to continue in the coming years.
“While it seems that solar companies are popping up all over the place almost daily, Enact has been at the forefront of the industry for many years, initially through home insulation but increasingly through solar electricity and solar hot water systems,” said Mr Wright.
“With over 300,000 measures installed in households across the country we are now positioned as a leading name in the marketplace, which gives our current and future customers peace of mind.”
“The last 12 months have been particularly exciting for the company, with the demand for our services necessitating the need for the office move. The new premises are considerably larger and will provide us with the space to grow further,” he added.
