About Enact Energy

Mission Statement

“Enact strives to carry out its business in a professional, quality biased and ethical manner with particular regard for minimising the impact of its operations on the environment”

Ethical Status

Enact always operates in a professional and focused manner underpinned by its ethical values. Enact´s own sustainable practice, operational processes and client relations are guided by these values.

Enact always remains true to its word on all business dealings with stakeholders and customers to ensure that it is viewed by them as a trustworthy company that always goes the extra mile.

Enacts Environmental Policy

Enact is proud that it can make a real contribution to energy efficiency in the UK and is committed to the continuous improvement of its environmental performance.

We recognise that many of our environmental stakeholders expect us to show high levels of commitment to improving the environment. Compliance to the requirements of our ISO14001 environmental management system provides us with a structured way of helping us achieve improvement.

  • Ensure that the environmental management system is properly resourced, has clear lines of management responsibility and accountability, and is systematically monitored, audited, reviewed and improved.
  • Meet or, where practical, exceed all legislative, regulatory and other requirements appropriate to our business.
  • Identify the company activities that can adversely affect our employees, contractors, the local community, customers, householders, and the wider global environment.
  • Regularly review the impacts arising from our materials, processes, work equipment, services and wastes and use this information to continually improve the company´s performance by setting meaningful objectives and targets.
  • Promote optimum and efficient use of materials and energy to improve resource utilisation and reduce waste.
  • Work towards the reduction and eventual elimination of any actual or potential pollution arising from our processes.
  • Provide employees, customers, suppliers, contractors, regulators and any other interested parties with appropriate information and training and encourage an open and on-going dialogue with persons having a bona fide interest in the Company´s activities.
  • Calculate and Review on a regular basis the companies carbon footprint including a baseline figure and incremental reduction targets set to reduce the overall footprint.

Current environmental practices:

  • Energy Use – Enact´s office are heated by a ground source heat pump. The electricity supplier provides power generated from 100% renewable sources. A grey water harvesting system is in place for the toilets.
  • Waste – All waste paper, confidential papers, cans, bottles, milk cartons and printer cartridges are recycled. A compost bin is provided for food waste.
  • Purchasing – all marketing materials and office paper are from a sustainable source.
  • Travel – all business travel is carbon offset by the Pure Trust (see below). The company is a member of the Cycle Scheme, encouraging staff to cycle rather than use a car.

Pure – the Clean Planet Trust financially support Kyoto Protocol emissions reduction projects around the world. Emission reductions are audited and verified by the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism; or for UK projects by the National Energy Foundation. All donations are used to buy and cancel carbon credits that are included in the government´s proposed Code of Best Practice for carbon offsetting. All carbon credits are bought from renewable energy and efficiency projects because these projects support sustainable development in the countries in which they are located.

Enacts Environmental Policy is confirmed and agreed by the board of Directors and signed on their behalf by the Group Operations Director.
