Enact and M&S Join Forces to Combat Climate Change
Major partnership promises 13,000 tonnes reduction in CO2 in its first year
Marks and Spencer are partnering with home sustainability experts Enact Energy to help deliver the retailer’s Plan A initiative through a nationwide insulation service. Utilising Enact’s 14 years of experience in energy conservation and renewable energy, the partnership plans to launch the home insulation service as the first part of a range of new green home products and services under its successful M&S Energy Brand.
To launch the new service, M&S shall be offering all its employees free insulation under the management of Enact and its nationwide network of installers, which have been screened to M&S standards. It is anticipated that up to 30,000 staff may take up the free offer, making M&S and Enact responsible for reducing the UK’s CO2 emissions by 13,000 tonnes in just one year through the staff incentive alone.
Enact will be providing full customer and works management for the service and will utilise its significant experience in the energy saving industry to ensure M&S customers enjoy the quality service and benefits expected of the M&S brand.
The partnership with M&S is a significant achievement for Enact, who through its own in-house and external projects has gained a reputation for being the most successful and innovative sustainable energy project manager in the UK.
Part of the company’s UK development plans, the partnership with M&S strengthens the company’s portfolio of growing projects and operations, which recently expanded to Ireland and Australia where first year’s turnover exceeded AUS$10million.
