Enact and Tesco Win at Industry Oscars
Innovative Partnership Secures Industry Breakthrough with a Win at the H&V News Awards 2009
The Tesco Home Insulation Service, the result of the partnering initiative between Tesco and Enact Energy Management Ltd, has been recognised and rewarded for its innovative contribution to tackling fuel poverty and providing the UK High Street with the first affordable retail insulation scheme at a recent prestigious awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The coveted title of ‘Partnership Initiative of the Year 2009’ was awarded to the forward thinking alliance during the H&V News awards, a night which was filled with celebrations from companies showing commitment and innovation by way of advances and development in the heating and ventilation industry sector.
Despite very strong competition in an industry that Tesco and Enact are of relative infancy and development, the partnership achieved a remarkable breakthrough emerging triumphant, with judges commenting on the relationship between Enact and Tesco as a “premier league partnership bringing undoubted savings to the customer in parallel with reducing energy wastage and tackling fuel poverty”.
The H&V News Awards are a highlight in the industry calendar, bringing together true professionals, to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements within the Heating and Ventilation industry. Enact and Tesco’s pioneering partnership, responsible for the success of the Tesco Home Insulation Service, has taken significant steps into new territory, and as a recipient of this accolade, is already gaining valued recognition.
Enact’s Managing Director, Adrian Liddell comments on this industry breakthrough:
“This award is a truly remarkable achievement against some very strong competition, and is demonstrative of the partnerships innovative approach to tackling fuel poverty and contributing towards reaching Governments climate change targets.”
The glamorous awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Jason Manford, brought together senior members of the Enact team, with Tesco’s Head of Greener Living, Andrew Brocklehurst, who comments on the win:
“I am delighted with the award in a very hard fought category with a number of other excellent initiatives. I’d like to think of this as a reward for all the hard work within Enact, Tesco and all our partners in developing a service which is high quality, simple, cost effective and of great value to all consumers whatever their circumstances.”
Esteemed guest, Chief Executive of the National Insulation Association (NIA), Neil Marshall, was also in attendance, representing the quality assured network of installers who work with the Tesco Home Insulation Service; without whom the highest quality service would not be possible. Neil remarks:
“The innovative partnership between Enact and Tesco provides experience, geographical coverage, and marketing opportunities and aims to deliver a high quality service to customers. An aspect of the commitment to quality can be attributed to both organisations membership of the insulation industry’s trade association, the NIA.
Working to maintain professionalism, quality and standards in the industry, the scheme’s NIA membership provides Tesco customers with further reassurance of quality, supporting the statistic that 86% of the public feel that it is important that the company they use for home improvements should be a member of a professional trade association.”
Enact is proud of the significance of this award and its reflection on the company’s management of the Tesco Home Insulation Service to date. Enact secured a partnership with Tesco mid 2008, and together the two companies have embarked on a challenge to transform the energy efficiency industry and unite in the fight against climate change by assisting a target of over 500,000 households across the UK by 2011 through the installation of energy efficiency measures.
The award’s strong acknowledgement is, in addition, demonstrative of the partnership’s flexibility and scope to move beyond the bounds of the expected, in delivery of an unsurpassed service, and make a notable contribution in an industry where it is still relatively young, but now has endless potential to grow.
