Who we are…

Enact Energy is an award winning firm of Energy Consultants specialising in working with local authorities to achieve improvements in energy efficiency.

Enact Energy was established in 1996 by Adrian Wright using a £5,000 loan secured under the Governments Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme. During the early years, the majority of the company´s time was occupied by training local authority officers how to save energy in domestic homes.

However, seeing that a major barrier for local authorities was the lack of funding to implement energy saving works, Enact set about identifying and securing funds to run campaigns on behalf of the local authorities. In 1998 this resulted in the awarding of just under £150,000 to set up the Heat Cornwall project, which has now developed into the multi million pound UK wide Green Project (formerly the Heat Project).

In 2001 Enact won the highest accolade in the energy efficiency arena, the NHER Consultant of the Year and also secured the National Champion Green Apple award for Environmental Best Practice in 2004.

Throughout the companies history Enact has helped many local authorities to improve energy efficiency in their districts and thereby reduce the effects of Global Warming.

To date the company has developed a number of innovative energy saving projects and has secured on behalf of its clients significant funding from the Energy Savings Trust(EST), Health Action Zone and the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR formerly known as Department for Trade and Industry) for energy saving schemes. In addition to developing the bids, building the partnerships and completing the applications and business plans, Enact also acts as a managing agent for a number of the projects.
